RALEIGH, N.C. (July 11, 2013) – There is an amazing group of ladies in southern Wake County, NC whom toll day and night to bring children’s consignment clothing, toys and accessories into public hands. What makes this group special though is that all proceeds from this twice-yearly sale go to support numerous non-profits and mission groups in NC and around the world. Davis Graphic Design was honored to design and build a sale Web site forWINGS, this women’s group from Hollands’ United Methodist Church in Raleigh.
While WINGS had utilized a Web site over the past years to get information out to its consignors, volunteers and shoppers, it was outdated, difficult to navigate and provided sale information only. WINGS members had to manually input and reconcile all consignor signup documentation and volunteer information.
Davis Graphic Design devised a WordPress CMS Web site that not only provided users with concise sale information, but also allows Consignors to sign-up online. The system requests all pertinent seller information, including Consignor number, then reconciles it to the database to minimize duplicates. If a consignor is new to the sale, the system will assign a new number. Following consignor sign-up, a full spreadsheet can be downloaded for use during the sale. The WINGS sale now also utilizes Sign-up Genius to manage volunteer registration. These two additions provide the WINGS members with ease of information and enormous amounts of extra time that they can now rededicate to their missions!
“Our group had several needs that had to be addressed through a new website,” said Elizabeth Hammond, Past-President, WINGS-HUMC. “We are thrilled that the work done by Davis Graphic Design not only offered automation enhancements through our public website but also created a separate portal for our members to receive information in a safe, secure and timely manner. Our new website went beyond our expectations!”
