Our Beginnings

Colleen Davis had left a career in graphic design and marketing to raise her daughters. One day, a former client approached her with a project that required quick turnaround on a tight budget, but without losing quality or creativity.

To the client’s delight, a strong marketing piece was formed – one that exceeded the initial criteria. That piece captured national recognition for the client’s product, and the rest is history. Over the years, Colleen has formed strong relationships with local web development gurus, video talent, a few wordsmithing copywriters, a truly gifted photographer and local print shops. We make a great team.

  Colleen Davis

  Owner and Creative Director of Davis Graphic Design - A Jersey girl at heart, Colleen found her Southern roots while at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she received her BA in Fine Art. Upon settling in Raleigh, she continued her education at the NC School of Communication Arts. From there Colleen went on to work with several NC advertising agencies. With the birth of her first daughter came a shift in priorities, and in 2005 Colleen made the decision to open her own design firm to allow for more family time. At Davis Graphic Design, Colleen is responsible for new business development and serves as creative director/brand manager for all of DGD's clients. She works closely with our clients to develop brand strategy, strengthen market share and oversee all the firm's creative projects. With over 20 years of marketing and design experience, Colleen has worked with such brands as SAAB, Cisco Systems, UNC Hospital System, RTI Surgical, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, NC Healthy Start, as well as numerous local companies and organizations. As a mom of two young daughters, Colleen enjoys spending time with her family (at the beach whenever possible!), gardening and relaxing with a good book.
